- 8 large pears, ripe
- 1 pack Al Wadi Al Akhdar Puff Pastry, thawed
- 1 egg
- 350 g Al Wadi Al Akhdar Dark Chocolate Chocosruf
- 125 ml Milk
For the Pears: Using a small knife, core the pears from the bottom, removing the core and seeds. Leave the stems attached.
Preheat oven to 200⁰C. Carefully, unfold the sheet of puff pastry, pressing any cracks back together with your fingerprints. Use a pastry wheel or sharp knife to cut the pastry into 16 strips. Whisk the egg in a cup or small bowl
Start at the bottom of a pear, and wind a strip of pastry around the base. When the strip ends, brush a little of beaten egg on the end and press a new strip on top of it. Continue winding strips of pastry around the pear, covering it completely, until you get to the top. Repeat with the remaining pears and puff pastry.
Brush the pears all over with the egg and sprinkle with granulated sugar. Place on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Bake for 20 mins or until golden brown.
For the Chocolate Sauce: Heat the milk until warm. Mix with the Dark Chocolate Chocosurf until smooth.
To Serve: Remove pears from oven. Let the pears cool slightly until they are warm. Serve with a drizzle of warm chocolate syrup.
