Shawarma Meat
    The internationally renowned dish that has Middle East written all over it!

    Ingredients

    • 1 Kg tenderloin beef meat, cut in strips
    • 2 Tsp salt
    • 1 Tsp pepper
    • 1 Tsp black pepper
    • 1 Tsp cinnamon
    • 1 Tsp dried thyme
    • 1/4 Cup Al Wadi Al Akhdar grape vinegar
    • 1/4 Cup of ketchup
    • 1/4 Cup Al Wadi Al Akhdar extra virgin oil
    • 2 Large onions, chopped

    • Tahini sauce
    • 1 Garlic clove, crushed
    • 1/4 Cup Al Wadi Al Akhdar tahini (sesame paste)
    • 1/4 Cup lemon juice
    • 1/2 Cup Water
    • 1/2 Tsp Salt

    • Salad
    • 2 Tbsp shopped parsley
    • 1 Onion, chopped
    • 2 Fresh tomatoes, diced
    • 1 Tbsp sumac
    • Salt & pepper, to taste

    Step 1

    Combine the meat with the spices, vinegar, ketchup and oil. Soak it for a few hours in the refrigerator.

    Step 2

    Scatter the meat (with the marinade) in a large oven dish, add the onions and cook in the oven for about 30 to 35 minutes.

    Step 3

    Meanwhile, mix all ingredients of the Tahini sauce and whisk. Combine all the salad ingredients. Set aside.

    Step 4

    When the meat is ready, serve with sauce, salad and Lebanese (pitta) bread.
