Lemon oil, vinaigrette, and balsamic. We often grow so tired of these words that we enter a salad dressing rut, which can really put us off salads. So if you want to rediscover your passion for greens, read on, because we’re about to introduce you to a whole new world of amazingly creative and delectable dressings that will make you fall in love with salads all over again. Here are the top ingredients we think you need to add to your salad dressing today.

Tahini
Tahini isn’t just for hummus; its uses are various and endless. Aside from making the legendary tarator sauce, it has proven to be a wonderful ingredient to your dressing. You can mix it in with olive oil, vinegar, lemon juice, and some ginger. Toss the mixture into the blender and drizzle it over your veggies for a great textured salad.

Pomegranate Molasses
Mediterranean cuisine has an unflinching love for pomegranate molasses, and we have to admit we have a soft spot for it as well. Its tangy taste makes it a welcome addition to any dish, but mainly to salads. Adding it to a lemon, olive oil, and salt dressing for tabbouli or fattoush is not uncommon in the Middle East, and the resulting taste is magnificent!

Honey
In addition to the sweet taste that honey adds to your dressing, it also brings texture and kind of holds it all together so that you end up with a smooth, rich flavor. We like to use it with the grilled halloumi salad, which makes a flavorful light dinner.

Jam
As you already know, adding fruits to your salad just might be the best decision you make all week. So why not add a little jam to the dressing? One easy dressing recipe uses strawberry jam, extra virgin olive oil, vinegar, salt and pepper, and Dijon mustard.

Rosewater
Rosewater is almost synonymous with summer, and that’s why we love using it in our most refreshing salads. One easy recipe would be to mix in some rosewater with pomegranate vinegar, extra virgin olive oil, and a pinch of sugar.

These are some of our favorite and essential salad dressing ingredients, but we’re sure you have plenty more. Share them below and don’t hold back!
