When you think of your daily routine, are you satisfied or do you think there’s room for improvement? This is a question you should ask yourself every morning. Whether you’re constantly feeling tired or have gained a few pounds, there’s always something you can do to feel better both physically and mentally. We’ve gathered a few pointers that can help you improve your health and energy.

Evaluate

First things first: take a few minutes today to evaluate your habits. Make a list of the things you think you should be giving up, but also the things you think are good for you. You can now start planning what your daily routine will be like.

Morning

We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but it’s worth repeating nonetheless. What you do in the morning sets the tone for the entire day. So many of us check our phones first thing in the morning, but we suggest kicking this habit. Instead, start your day a bit more quietly: try to stretch your body for a few minutes as soon as you get out of bed, and then have a drink of water. Try to have some variety in your breakfast. For example, have coffee one day, tea and honey the second, a refreshing cup of laban ayran the third, and so on. For breakfast, ditch the sugar-filled cereals and have some oatmeal and fruits instead, or a hearty omelet that will fill you up so you avoid overeating throughout the day.

During the day

If you only have the three major meals per day, you may want to reconsider. In between meals, sneak in some healthy snacks, like a banana, an apple, almonds and nuts, jam, or even some diet halawa. As you go about your work, always take short breaks to move around and drink plenty of water. Take a 5 minute walk or, if you can, do some simple exercises in your office. At lunch time, you’ll want to make sure to get as much nutrition as you can. Make sure to include protein, either from meat, chicken, seafood, eggs, dairy, or vegetarian sources such as chickpeas, beans, lentils, and leafy greens. Evening

After work, relaxation is in order! How do you do that? You get your body moving. There are plenty of workout ideas that you can do either at the gym, outdoors, and right at home for those who have little time. What matters is that you exercise to release the stress and to strengthen your body. When it comes to dinner, the best practice is to eat at least 2 hours before bed so you don’t toss and turn before you go to sleep. As for dinner suggestions, we recommend having a salad or a light sandwich. Since you’ve filled up on breakfast, lunch, and snacks, hopefully, you won’t need more to be full. Finally, end the day with some quality time with the people you love (or on your own, if that’s what you prefer!) and adjust your bedtime so you can get a full 8-hour sleep.

In the end, everyone does their own thing to find the right routine for wellness and peace of mind.
